DA CUNHA WORKS

About

I'm Steve. I build the small tools that take the repetitive work off people's plates.

Da Cunha Works is me, in Philadelphia. My day job runs on paperwork, approvals and deadlines, and over the last few years I've built the tools my team uses to get through it: intake that sorts itself, documents that assemble from what's already been typed, and checks that catch problems before a person has to. They're in use every day by the people they were built for.

Before that I ran operations for a growing service business, and before that I served in the U.S. Army. Both taught the same lesson: most lost time isn't one big problem. It's the same small chore done fifty times a week.

That's the work I take on now for local businesses. I look at how your office actually runs, find the task that eats the most time for the least reason, and fix that one thing properly.

How I work

  • Code first. Most repetitive work needs a well-built script, not an AI subscription. I only use an AI model where a task genuinely needs judgment or language, and only where it earns its cost.
  • Honest about what's worth it. If something isn't worth automating, I'll tell you, and that answer costs you nothing extra.
  • Small and finished. One task, done properly and in use, beats a platform nobody adopts.
  • Yours to keep. What I build runs on tools you already have or own outright. No seats to license, and nothing that holds your data hostage.

The mark

The logo is a survey benchmark: the small brass disk set into rock at trailheads and summits, marking a point someone measured carefully. I design my own hiking routes and have stood on a lot of those disks. It felt right for work that starts with surveying before anything gets built.
